Eyelash extension patch test. What is it?

Hi ladies, Hope you all had wonderful spring so far. I have recently been questioned about patch test many times so I want to explain you what exactly patch test is? Or is it necessary for you?.

An eyelash extension patch test is a 15 minutes appointment when a lash tech apply few extensions (maximum 10 each eye) to testify whether a client have allergy to any product using in an eyelash extension appointment such as under eye patch, tape, lash cleanser and more importantly lash adhesive.

Allergic reaction to the lash adhesive is the worst one. The symptoms appear within 24-48 hour. The reaction starts with redness, itchiness, puffiness and get worse over a short period of time. Client should visit a lash professional for an urgent lash removal appointment to avoid any consequences.

Allergy to the under eye patch and tape is a minor irritation and always go away within few hours. If your client report a red line on her lower eye lid, this is coming from the under eye gel patch. I recommend to stop using the under eye patch on her for a while and protect the under eye skin with vaseline until the sensitivity is gone.

Haniye Artistry’s lash techs are skilled enough to give you the best lash experience ever.  If you have had allergic reaction before or you are concerned to have it, I highly recommend to get a patch test beforehand.

Remember! In some rare cases there is no reaction to the small amount of glue but there is to the full amount. Please release your lash tech free of any responsibility as this is a body reaction not a mistake.

I had allergic reaction to eyelash extension! When can I get them done again?

The symptoms of allergic reaction to the lash adhesive start with redness right after the appointment and get worse within 24 hours following with itchiness and puffiness. You must visit a lash professional to remove the extensions as soon as possible and keep your eyes clean and dry. The symptoms will disappear in 3 days after the removal depending your individual healing procedure. It is not necessary to visit a doctor but if you are too worried it’s good idea to be relieved.

Allergic reaction to lash adhesive might happen at any time without any notice. You have lash extension for years with no problem and wakeup with red and puffy eyes one day.  This is not your technician, this is not the method or procedure, this is just YOUR BODY. Allergy is allergy.  Allergies happen at anytime, to anyone, for anything.  There is no prescription and no treatment for them. They might go away by themselves or stay with you for ever.

A very common question is ” when can I get eyelash extension again?”

And the answer is “nobody knows!”

The best idea is to try patch test to ensure whether the allergy is gone. The symptoms will appear within 24 hours post procedure and in very rare cases 48hours.  Also it is possible that there is no reaction to the small amount of glue using at the patch test appointment but there is in a larger amount. Weird! Hey?!

Please remember to do not blame your lash tech if your eyes reacting to the lash adhesive. Do not ask for refund.  She has done nothing wrong, I’m sure she did her best to deliver you a wonderful lash experience. It is not fair at all to point a lash tech for a unique body allergic reaction.

I highly recommend a patch test if you have never had eyelash extension before or if you had allergic reaction experience.

At Haniye Artistry we strive to provide the highest quality services! You are in a right place if you need a patch test.

My lashes are falling off so crazy!!! What’s wrong?

why my eyelash extensions fall off

Ladies, You all know that hair loss is body’s reaction to a change. A change to our hormones, diet, life style, stress, birth control and even climate. This is the time of year that all creatures living on earth experience hair shedding because of the transition from cold to warm weather.

Eyelashes are a type of hair that have shorter life cycle. A grown lash will fall off while a baby new lash will grow back within 4-6 weeks. The transition from winter to spring causes major lash shedding and it is more noticeable if you have eyelash extensions on. Eyelash extensions help your lashes to look longer, curlier, darker and fuller. If you have noticed gaps recently, I am telling you ladies, it is way normal.

You just need to take better care of your extensions and come to see us more often till your body gets fully adjusted to the new season.
